Promotions and R4 roles
Promotions are calculated every Sunday (Monday if I am busy... I am only human). I will also do promotions on Wednesdays for select promising players. So you can move up to two spots per week. They are currently as follows:
(they may change as we grow)
R1: to get in the alliance, you need to be 25mil bp minimum currently.
R2: Alliance relocate required, you must hit 100,000 minimum weekly donation. You also need to demonstrate being social, communication in the alliance is key. You don't need to be a social butterfly, but you need to communicate.
R3: 30mil BP minimum. Participation in events (fortress fight, res raids, etc). Continue to be at least minimally social.
R4: 10 spots currently. R4 must demonstrate activity socially, or in activities/events. I am experimenting with a few more R4 at the moment with a goal of a 1:10 ratio of members to R4, to maximize the chance that one r4 is always online. Our old system of BP and historical donations dictating R4 has also been replaced by more of a voluntary position. If no one volunteers, I will ask someone to take a role. Criterion are experienced R3, or new members from another alliance with exceptional experience. High bp is ideal as that often comes with dedication and time/experience in game.
All R4 help manage donations, assist in answering member questions, and take emergency action within the alliance in times of war. They help to be the eyes and ears of the alliance leadership and should advise the leader on poor behavior of members in and outside the alliance.
- 1 "Recruiter" (Lickatysplit) - Helps recruit new members to RED and ReD and help manage merges.
- 1 "Trap operator" (Sharta McFarta, Korkas secondary to run late traps) - Schedules and runs traps. Involves posting and rotating trap times, running traps, and designating another player to run traps when they are not available. They will also send the alliance group messages, or edit the megaphone message to communicate trap times. Trap times will always be marked via marker over the trap itself with the date and time in UTC. Please be sure to put time requests for traps on our trap marker via comments as we try to rotate times to accommodate more players.
- 1 "Diplomat" (4lphabeta)- to help manage alliance relations. The state can be a testy place.
- 1 "Events coordinator" (Dexter87, secondary RandomName)- to manage events like horde events, and rally players for bunker fights, capital clash, etc. They will message the alliance and edit the megaphone as required.
- 1 "Tax collector" (Krakatoa)- Their job is to given members a friendly reminder to hit minimum 100,000K weekly donations. They will sent the alliance leader a list of poor donators on Sundays. Poor donators will not be kicked, but it will limit promotions, and help to put players on a shortlist for being moved out of the alliance as we grow.
- 1 Translator (Picholon) - He knows four languages, so if there is a communication breakdown, he may be able to help (French, spanish, english of course, and one more i forget as of this writing)
- 4 Regional R4 "Western North America (Korkas), Eastern North America (Picholon), Europe (Madafaka), Asia (Ravenfire)". This is to ensure we have leadership coverage as much as possible. They have no specific role other than to be helpful and available when needed. Some R4 will be regional R4, but also have shared roles.
Theoretically R4 can swap a lot over time, based on or people tiring of voluntary roles. The roles and numbers are also fluid at this point as I experiment.
Q: Can I be demoted?
A: Yes you can. If your BP drops far below your current rank minimum, you may be demoted, but generally promotions go up, not down. You can also be demoted for hitting allies, zeroing players, being rude to other players in chat, running 1 hour rallies in the middle of a trap, being a general idiot etc. BUT I ACCEPT MISTAKES. We all make them. But if you make a big, one, let me know so that I know it will not happen again. Or I may contact you. Multiple mistakes without talking about it is a great way to get demoted, or kicked out of the alliance. Communication is essential.
You can also get demoted and kicked for prolonged inactivity (inactivity is ok if you communicate an extended leave... we all have a real life and I get it. Otherwise I must assume you have left the game). I mark players that are inactive for long periods of time, and they get moved out of the alliance as new members join us.
You won't get demoted for missing the minimum donations weekly, but if you can't hit 100K, you will probably get zeroed in a kill event, or you are far less active. That is a recipe for being flagged to be moved out of the alliance as we grow.
If you are one of those players that has never once communicated, it is also a good way to be demoted, or never promoted, and moved out of the alliance. I favor communication more than bp right now. You don;t need to be running trivia on state chat to get a promotion, but say hello, and let us know you are not a bot.
Q: I will never be R4, your alliance sucks... I am leaving to another alliance!!!
A: I am sorry to hear that. Good luck becoming an R4 in another alliance with that attitude. R4 really just means you can stock the alliance store, and that when war arrives, you need to call the shots and keep the team working together, and not doing stupid moves. They also may need to help defend, and lead defenses, part of why I want 6 of our strongest in R4. Most importantly, R4 also need to be active, friendly, social, and help others with questions. They are the leaders eyes and ears to good and bad conduct, and should report observations to the alliance leader as required. They also help make big decisions for the alliance.
Q: Who dictates promotions?
A: The alliance leader does. R4 can demote and even kick players, but I ask that they only do that in emergency cases. I like to keep tabs.
Q: Why do you kick players? how do you decide who goes?
A: I prefer not to kick players out, aside from repeat offenses without communication. Instead, I like to have players move over to our development alliance ReD. I always like to keep at least 1-2 open spots in the alliance for new players. So as we fill up, I will move people out to keep 1-2 spots open. I tend to move out players that are a combo of inactive/low bp/zero communicators/poor behavior. IF you are inactive, the higher your BP, or the longer you are with us, the longer I will take to kick you.
Q: I have a friend from an old alliance, can they join?
P: Sure, assuming they meet the minimum 25mil bp. I enjoy when friends and family can play together. It builds the fun in the alliance. I might even lower the entry requirement for promising players that contact me, as active friendly players are more valuable than inactive powerful players. This is a game, and it should always be fun.
